Letting go is hard to do...

Intensity

This beautiful little girl is now coming into her own and it is scary and makes me a tad, no a lot, sad. She has always been a pleaser. She wants me to be happy with her and has (usually) obliged when I asked her to dress up for a photo op or for school or church. Now that she is old enough to have a say, she is trying to speak to me and be heard. Prime example: today Lala and Annslee came over for a visit. We were back in Paige's room and Laura was commenting on the colors of her room (lime green, pink and white) and Paige said, "Can we change my room?" She said, "I told mom that I like it, but I really don't". I HEARD her, really heard her. Sooo, tonight we have looked online for new comforters, paint, accessories and what I am finding is, she is her "own" little person and it IS time for us to let go and let her fly. It is sooo hard, but I made a promise to her tonight that I was going to let her be the Paige she wants to be!

Look forward to lots of new posts of room decor and such... I will need lots of support from my friends...LOL!!!

Cute picture of Paige! I can't wait to see her bedroom makeover, although I love her current bedroom.

It must be so sad letting go, however, I think you are definitely doing the right thing. Hang in there!

Oh Missy, I do not look forward to the day when Linlee is like Paige and wants to assert herself by making her own choices (probably very different from mine). Yet it's going to happen to all of us! I know you are going to be great at letting Paige express her Paigeness - even if it's hard. Can't wait for the pictures!

LOL...we just talked about this yesterday....It is really tough to let go, isn't it? I am in this stage with Nick as well....although I don't think it is too bad because he is a boy. The only thing that he really wants to be heard about is his clothes and 5 days a week he wears a uniform, so we only knock heads on the other two:)

Re-doing her room sounds like the perfect project for Paige to be "Heard".....Can't wait to see what she comes up with!!

Can't wait to SEE you in person....only a couple more weeks:)

Just for the record...I was commented that I LOVE it. I am sure whatever y'all come up with will be beautiful!

Annslee wanted purple walls and I did not for her new room but I did it and now I actually LOVE it too : )

Have fun watching her blossom even more. Knowing Paige, I think we will all be pleased with the woman she becomes(but not too soon of course)

I can imagine it is so difficult to see her at this stage of wonderful independence and yet- so exciting to discover the young woman to come!

She is beautiful in this photo and always. Have fun decorating you two- I know that you will!

I suggest black walls. Because they are so, so easy to repaint. Snort.

Just kidding. Have fun with it. And I hope I ease up as graciously as you are, when the time comes.

It is so bittersweet when your little girls start to grow into big girls. It is so tough to let go, but that's part of growing up.

Lovely picture of Paige...

First of all I love the picture of Paige!

It is so hard when they go up and become more independent....we want to keep them little, or I know I do.

I can't wait to see the room redo...I know it will look great!

I am doing Weight Watchers too...CONGRATS on the great loss you had! I'm not going to the meetings though, I'm just being held accountable by blog world but I LOVE the WW eating plan...it has worked great for me in the past.

Yes, I would love for you to add me to your blog roll.

Have a Blessed Easter,
Kim
