"Sissy, you are MEAN"

That is what I heard this morning as I was hacking up a lung! Geez, thanks Paige...way to give a sista a break :) I have been on a steroid pack to lick this awful respiratory infection and it has made me EVIL! Oh.MY! There should be a major public service announcement while taking these things. It has given me sooo much energy. I was awake at 2am cleaning bathrooms, closets, etc... I am very fiesty and was feeling bad about being snippy, so took my fav. little girl for some leaf and photo time. We raked leaves and laughed and had a ball. In the midst of the raking, she allowed me to snap some shots and they are my new favorites. For those of you who have adopted, do you ever just sit and stare at your little one and wonder...I mean, deeply wonder, what their biological parents are like? Today was one of those days for me. As P. laughed and was being goofy, I could just envision her dad being a character. When she was on the ground examining leaves and playing with her cat, I wondered if her mom is a tenderhearted, inquisitive person. Sometimes it is truly overwhelming. I just wonder what goes through her little mind. I once asked her if she could meet her China mom and dad what she would say. She said she would ask them if they like to dance, play basketball and study history. Then I said, do you wish you still lived in China. Her reply, "NO, duh, I wouldn't have you and my family or MacDonald's, DUH!" What a great kid!

Missy, I am laughing so hard because that has been Faith's word lately.....DUH! I don't know where she gets it.
I know I commented on your FB but Paige looks sooo grown up in these. I don't know if you see it, but she is really changing. She is just so beautiful!!

The 2 of you are SO LUCKY to be sisters!!
Yes, there are MANY times I sit and watch Lucy and ponder about her bio parents. Who does she look like, who's temperment does she have, are her mannerisms more like her mom or dad......it is never ending, and I am always in awe! Someday I pray God will provide all the answers!!
Hugs, Jill

These are gorgeous Missy! I agree with Colleen that she does look so mature all of a sudden! Tell her to stop that. :)

I wonder about my girls' parents too, it's kind of hard not to...

I love these...she looks so grown up. Annslee walked by and said "is that Paige~not look like her"

Hey, they have McDonald's in China so you guys better stay in her good graces or she will go : )

It is funny...both our kids have similar personalities in some ways that I think my be nurture but there is definitely a nature component to it too. Of course when I look at them I really wonder what their first parents look like...one thing I know is they were very good looking : )

Oh Missy -- those steroids will do weird things to a person! Hope you are feeling better. And that Miss Paige -- could she be any cuter, sweeter, smarter? I don't think so. Lovely lovely photos as always!

Missy,
Fabulous pics, miss Paige is just so beautiful.
and yes, I often sit in awe watching J and wonder about her birth parents, and wonder if she is like them. Often I am floored at how much she reminds me of myself as a child and that makes me wonder about her birth family. Especially her birth mother. and J has started to wonder and ask questions too. Oh what a mind this 4 year old has! Sadly I guess we will always wonder.
Love Paige's answer to you! She is right where she is meant to be and she knows it!!:)

Oh, Missy... I'm so sorry you are still struggling. Yep, those steroid packs make me mean, too, especially Prednisone. Oh my lands.

Loving all of the photos. And yes, I often wonder about my Tongginator's first parents. Do they love math? Are they musical? Do they have sensory issues or does my Tongginator have them because she was a preemie? So many things...

That's very cool how the bottom 2 photos are so similar, but have such different light qualities. All great photos- it looks like she had fun playing in the leaves =)
