My little mouse was wonderful last night!!! She was so dramatic and gave the audience a huge laugh as she shook her little mouse bottom : ) The set, costumes and choreography were out of this world. It far exceeded our expectations.
A funny side note: So, I knew taking pictures and video was strictly prohibited in the performance hall, but thought I'd sneak in my camera and take a few while no one was watching. I was SO proud of myself, because I turned off my flash and took TONS of great shots...they weren't blurry at all (usually I cannot shoot well with the flash off as the pics are always so blurry and you can't make out what it is).
Sooo, after the show we are getting up from our seats and I am proudly boasting to my mom and brother and his girlfriend how I got some amazing shots and we would blow them up and put them in her room, when all of a sudden, I hear "M'am, I need you to step over here". CRUD! I was cold busted! This lady, who could have been a prison warden by her demeanor and her gruff voice, stood over me and said firmly, "DELETE the pictures". I was so embarrassed. I wanted to beg her to keep just one, but she lectured me about how there was no photography or video at all at any TPAC event and that they shared that numerous times and how I could have had my camera confiscated.
Geesh, by the time I was finished deleting my pics I was nearly in tears and felt like a common criminal.
I have a plan, though! We are watching her performance on the 21st and I think I am going to try it one more time...hee hee! I am going to take two picture cards. I will take pics of Paige on one card and then replace the card and take some more on another card and delete those if I must.
I know, I know, I should not break the rules, but you see, I am not hurting anyone, right? Please tell me that I am not a bad person for wanting to have some sort of documentation of this big event in her life.
Ok, so maybe I am feeling a little guilty...
ok, FINE...I won't do it!

Such a bummer about the pics...I would have been so upset. I do like the way you think though...the extra camera card sounds like a good idea!! She is your sister for crying out loud....can't they let you have just one picture!!

So sad for you about the pics:( I would've been too scared to even try, I'm always worried about being caught. Honestly though, I get why they have the basic rule, but I DO think family of the dancers should at least be able to have a few shots! I mean come on!

Be careful! Most people are strapped for money during the holidays. Posting bail might pose a problem...

I can't believe they wouldn't let you take at least one picture with you, specially since you're a family member! Is there anymore dress rehearsals that you could bring a camera to, or are they selling a video program of the event? I would so love to see a photo or clip of Paige's big night! I know she must have been perfect!
Oh, Missy, I'm so glad to hear her performance went well!! I think it's silly that you can't take pictures at performances. I mean flash, I understand, but no flash I don't get. And people with family in the cast should definitely get a free pass on that one. I suggest contacting the head of the ballet's marketing department and asking if they can take one for you. Surely they are documenting at least some of the performances.
ps. So the argument that your Bloggy friends wanted to see pictures didn't soften Miss Bad Cop? lol

OH NO about the pictures. I bet you were so upset. Why do they do that anyway- oh please. A couple pictures of your sister- who are you hurting. The flash was off.
And I am pretty sure unless you amount to a disturbance of the peace that you should be safe from arrest. Although- it sounds like the camera warden just might get your precious camera!

Well girl....I say GO FOR IT! I'd surely be doing it! I tried the same thing at the ROckettes and those men in the Opry house were on top of us and everyone instantly! I mean what is the big deal!?!?!?! But I didn't get nay...however, I copied Steffies from her blog! she's the brave chick in our blog world!!! I love it! I'll just ride on her coat tails! ha!
Anyway...I think the plan with two cards will work! Just take a big ole purse...and when you switch it out...do it quite cavalierly! Can't wait to see!!! And if they take to you to jail....call me..I"ll come bail you out! hee-hee! Just joking!

My Mother does this all the time. Takes pictures when she is not supposed too. She has gotten in trouble a few times. It is amazing how they make you feel so terible like you committed a crime. But, I do act like I don't know her when she is getting in trouble...hehe.
