Before I forget

No pics tonight, but I had to write some things that happened last night that I never want to forget. We went to see the Jonas Brothers. It was Paige's first concert and she had no idea what to expect. Once they came out, she and her bestie kept screaming, "We love you, Nick". Too cute. Then one of the Jo Bros (not sure which) played a song about having type 1 diabetes...it was fairly quiet and no one was screaming...all of the sudden Paige and Olivia scream out, in unison, "Stay Strong, Nick!!!" Olivia's mom is my dear friend and went with us and nudged me and we had to turn our heads so we wouldn't laugh. OH.THE.DRAMA! :)

During the performance, the Jo Bros played "Brown Eyed Girl". That was my dad and Paige's song. When she was little, he would pick her up and dance with her and sing that song. That song was played during his funeral in honor of their special relationship. Once the song started playing, Olivia said, "Oh, Paige your dad is wishing you a Happy Birthday". Paige's face dropped into her hands and she began sobbing uncontrollably. I grabbed her and put her on my lap and hugged and loved on her. She put her head on my shoulder and as tears streamed down her face she said that she missed her dada. It was such an emotional moment. While it was tough for her she later said, "Dada shows up in the most crazy places. He is so silly" and had the biggest smile on her face. I agree, he shows up all the time, when we are least expecting it.

I couldn't read that without tears streaming down my face! Your Dad is certainly watching out for both of his girls. No doubt in my mind. Sorry he caught Paige off guard but sounds like you both handled it pretty well. I'm glad he got the chance to let you know he was thinking of you both. ;)

And so glad you had fun!! I can just picture the girls screaming! LOL

Sounds like the perfect concert for a birthday girl! Even the song, which brought out such emotion, was a gift.

(No worries; I've been terrible at commenting too. LOL!)

He's always there, but isn't it hard sometimes when he shows up when you are least expecting it! Poor Paige....I can't believe she had to feel that heavy grieving during her fun night out.
Other than that part, I'm glad you had a fun time and I wish I could have seen you guys rockin' out with the Jonas Bros!!!

What a night!! Both fun and full of emotion. It's great you and Paige were able to have such a great sisterly bonding night. (Is it sad that I'm 38 and think that Joe Jonas is totally cute? Yes, yes, VERY sad!! LOL).

I know personally that memories of my father have a way to hit me out of nowhere. So sorry to hear that their special song hit Paige hard. To steal a line from two besties... "Stay strong, Paige. Stay strong!"

Also, on another topic, I'm so glad to read that your photography business is going well. YAY!! How wonderful!!

Oh Missy---crying my little eyes out right now. I am sure it was hard seeing her get so upset on such a happy occasion but how comforting to KNOW your Dad is watching over y'all:)

Hugs.
